Litijan
“Litijan” syrup might be used in prophylactic way to keep liver and body healthy. It is dietary preparation prepared in a form of syrup to regularly maintenance hepatic duct. Such path comprises liver and gallbladder. Among liver cells exist very fine, tiny canals which are gathering together making ductus hapaticus outlet. This system of canals is connected to gallbladder whose outlet makes ductus cysticus. Both canals are joining into ductus holeductus outlet which enters into small intestine - duodenum. Bile is produced by hepatocytes in the liver, draining through the many bile ducts that penetrate the liver partly straight to small intestine and partly into specific reservoir, gallbladder. Bile is stored in the gallbladder between meals and upon eating is discharged into the duodenum where the bile aids the process of digestion of lipids. Bile is composed of organic and inorganic matters. Inorganic matters are water, minerals and bicarbonate (serves a crucial biochemical role in the physiological pH buffering system); organic matters are bile acid, cholesterol, bile pigments, phospholipids, and mucin. Bile pigments are bilirubin and biliverdin (produce by bilirubin oxidation). They are in gallbladder. The bile acids are typically conjugated with salt or glycine and are produced by the liver from cholesterol. When bile components balance exists there is no possibility to form any biliary send or gallstone. Protective colloids are keeping bile and its components soft. Shortage of these colloids will induce sedimentation of some bile elements and components making biliary sediments - gallstones within the gallbladder. Different inflammatory process will contribute to s production as well as shortage in vitamins (making desquamation of epithelial canal cells). Inflammatory processes in hepatic path might be induced by infection and no infective matters. Changes are: liver swelling, wider or narrow biliary canals and biliary paths, thickness of bile bag walls, bended bile bag and cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is a consequence of chronic liver disease characterized by replacement of liver tissue by fibrous scar tissue as well as regenerative nodules (lumps that occur as a result of a process in which damaged tissue is regenerated), leading to progressive loss of liver function. “Litijan” and its protective matter protect liver; its active substances have regenerative effect on liver parenchyma within lipid degeneration intoxication, alcoholism and various infections. Syrup elements have strong anti-inflammatory effect and anti edematous effect putting liver function in normal mode. Gall elements are in balance what leads towards stopping of production and melting of existing gallstones. “Litijan” is strong antioxidant (an oxidant is a molecule capable of slowing or preventing the oxidation of other molecules).

Indications and mechanism of action

INDICATIONS:
Gallstone, inflammation of liver, chyrosis, cyst caused by parasites (ehinococcus), lipid degeneration, alcoholism.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Mixture of active herbal principles of “Litijan” act on liver cells in stimulative way on gall production. It amplifies dissolving of bile e.g. bile salts what lids us to melting existing gallstones in a cystic duct. It establishes balance between gall elements obstructing gallstone production. “Litijan” has a strong anti inflammatory and pain blocking effect as it comprises proteolitic enzymes which reduce pain and swellings. “Litijan” affects on regeneration of liver parenchyma and hepatocytes function.
Gallstone in gallbladder or in rest of biliary tree is frequent reason why patients are applying for treatment. The gallbladder is the most frequent case where one can find several smaller or just one stone big enough to fulfill the whole bladder. This is followed with sufferings and pain of different intensity also known as gallstone “attack” or biliary colic; nausea and vomiting may occur. Patient’s fecal matters sometime might be colorless, what signify position of gallstone which completely blocks bile flow into duodenum.

Gallstone in hapatobiliary tract follows after diabetes mellitus, regional enteritis, hemolytic processes in sickle-sell anemia, obesity. Irrespective to matter we always have changed quality of bile in chemical sense. In the state of health bile elements are in a good balance. At the time when this fine balance is in disorders at first the gall elements are separating each other in a form of gall send and gallstone afterwards. One of these elements is keeping in place all others, making a gallstone. The base of problem one will find in hepatocytes – liver cells. Frequently we have more or less strong inflammatory processes which follow the gallstone in cystic duct. Anti-inflammatory effect is present shortly after syrup treatment start. Pain is reduced, inflammation is reduced, too. Liver cells are stimulated to excrete bile what can be easily seen through regular defecation where fecal matters have normal color again. This is positive sign which means that hepatobiliary tract is in better mood. Gall pulls back and swill out all inflammatory products, mucilage, send; all can be easily verified in feces. The quality of bile is better through time what leads towards reduction of cholesterol presence in gallstone - crystals are not so sticky, they are not gathered together strongly after and they are flowing away with bile into duodenum, small intestine and further into intestine system. Bended gallbladder is result of inflammatory process and it return to normal after “Litijen” syrup therapy start. Thicker gallbladder walls become normal again after syrup treatment. All these results can be verified in follow-up by ultrasound diagnostic scanning and specific lab analysis (level check of bilirubin and trans-amylase). Through time they are bringing back to its referent values. Rate of these changes is directly proportional to the length of pathological status and number of expressed problems. It is not rare that for the same system several diagnoses are present within the same patient. With special satisfaction we stress out that virus titre (as titration result) of hepatitis A, B and C is decreased and general condition of patient’s health is remedied. In this case patient’s follow up is longer and he is advised to approach therapy up to full recovery. In our practice we have had several cases of ehinococcus cysts. In contemporary world modern treatment of such cases, according the author’s knowledge, is based on surgery only (in most cases if exist only one cyst alone, e.g. there are not many of them). Patients in our follow up had up to three cysts (the biggest was 3.5 cm in diameter). Under pressing “Litijan” therapy cysts have been melted, cyst fluid gone what all made ehinococcus dry. Parasite has lost its living conditions. Meanwhile the cyst wall was thinner and thinner; finally ultrasound scan showed clean liver. Serological tests proved full recovery and curing.

Common practice examples

PRACTICE EXAMPLE 01:
Patient, female, 65 years of age, has diagnosis of ehinococcus cyst. She has had three cysts in total, of different sizes. As her daughter is living in Switzerland she has used imported therapy, for two years. Finally she asked for help following advice of her good friend who already has been informed with our program of diet preparations. We advised her to use combination of two preparations, “Litijan” and “Vitlin” where we expected joined synergetic effect. During this first therapy patient has been scarred and called us by phone each 2 to 3 days (she thought that she will die). That was hard period for both, for her and our team. At the and of first therapeutic dosage treatment ultrasound scanning check up showed that the first cyst, smallest one (1 cm in diameter) disappeared totally, the second one (2 cm in diameter) was reduce to 0.5 cm in size and third and biggest cyst (3.5 cm in diameter) was reduced to 1.5 cm in size. For us it was proof that we are following right approach and we continued with her treatment gradually. After nine months we have heard by phone happy news that her liver is clean and that there are no signs of parasites any more.

PRACTICE EXAMPLE 02:
We frequently meet lipid liver degeneration, situation when fat deposition in liver is intensified. Unfortunately this problem is not treated seriously enough. Meanwhile this situation shows us that liver is tired, loosing own energy and might represent introduction to more serious diseases. Such situation we find with gallstones in cystic duct (gallbladder and cystic canals); it follows swallowed liver, sclerotic liver and liver damages caused by viruses, alcohol, chemicals, diabetes. Healthy hepatobiliary tract needs “clean liver”, where its cells work properly. Only one therapeutic dosage of “Litijan” is good enough to remove lipid degeneration what can be verified by ultrasound scan, what proofs “Litijan” as salutary remedy.

PRACTICE EXAMPLE 03:
Our well-known patient asked for help during 2007 for her old mother, already in late 80’s, who suffered from diabetes for more than 18 years. Following his suggestion and request we offered to her combination of syrups “Litijan” and “Sklerin plus”, noticed him “let us test, only”. We have followed known medical fact that lipid metabolism and metabolism of carbohydrates are in same circle; we expected that “Skleran plus” would decrease glucose blood level values in the same manner as it decreases high lipid values. Our assumption was right one. We have got confirmation that only one joined therapy dosage in lasting of 2 months was sufficient to decrease hyperglycemia from 18 to 8 units. Our patient continued to use the next joined dosage of “Litijan” and “Skleran plus” syrups. After 4 months and 2 therapy sessions patient had lowered glycaemia values up to7 units. We are still in contact with her son. “Mother eats now all these foodstuffs what have been forbidden to her in last 20 years and glycaemia has still values”. At the end of 2008, in november, our patient has steady glycaemia up to 7 units, without any other therapy support.
